Homemade Chocolate Lazy Cake, Straight from the Freezer

A heat wave that hit Riyadh city in the past few days....after months of constant cold -actually freezing- weather.
And since the winter season also ended in Lebanon (Who knew that this year the weather would be that weird? ), So nothing is better than starting the spring/summer season but having this lazy cake, served straight from the freezer.

Well, I honestly don't know why lazy cakes are cakes. They dont even contain eggs or flour, the two major ingredients to bake a cake. It is obviously a No Bake Cake!
So, I'd rather call my lazy cake as chocolate bars or biscuits. Homemade Kitkat might also be another name.

The taste is inspired from my favorite chocolate bar: Lindt Orange chocolate.

Here is a quick recipe:

Number of Servings : 2 from the red tray shown below.

Kitchen tools:
  1. Spatula
  2. Manual or automatic Mixer
  3. Grater
  4. Cling Film

Ingredients:
  • 1 container of sweetened condensed milk  ( I used Nestle brand)
  • 3 biscuits boxes (any brand will do), 175 g each, crushed into small pieces
  • 50 g unsalted butter ( I used Al Marai Brand), softened to room temperature
  • You can add few tablespoons of sugar per your taste.
  • 100 g Melted cooking chocolate (or a bar of chocolate and melt it)
  • For extra flavor: add some orange and lemon peel to have an orangy zest!
Steps:
Very easy/quick to prepare.

  1. Just crush the biscuits, then add the condensed milk.
  2. Melt the chocolate with the butter on a Bain Marie and not directly over heat.
3. Peel some lemon or/and lemon Pour the saucy chocolate/butter over the biscuits/milk mix , with the vanilla, and lemon zest.
4. Add a cling film on the tray and spread the whole mix over the tray.
5. Place the tray in freezer.
 6. Leave for an hour till it takes shape and becomes hard Dip a knife in hot water to cut properly
